January 9, 2026 – The Council of The Corporation of the City of Sarnia passed Municipal-Wide Development Charges By-law No. 1 of 2024 on the 15th day of December 2025 under subsection 2(1) of the Development Charges Act, 1997, S.O., 1997 c.27, as amended;
In accordance with Schedule 4 of the Protect Ontario by Building Faster and Smarter Act, 2025, there are appeal rights associated with the passing of the amended By-Law.
The schedule of Development Charges imposed by the by-law, which came into effect on December 15, 2025, are outlined in Schedule ‘B’ of the by-law.
No key map is provided as the Development Charges By-law applies to all lands within the boundaries of the City of Sarnia. The development charge rates are based on the service areas identified in Schedule ‘C’ of the by-law.
