March 27, 2024 — Work will commence in early April on reconstruction of Plank Road from McGregor Sideroad to Highway 40.
Project scope
The $3.5-million project will include:
- 1,200 metres of new 300 mm watermain reducing the potential for breaks, water loss and outages
- Widening and reconstruction of 1,300 metres of road, utilizing recycling of the current road surface to reduce costs
This project is funded in part by the Infrastructure Canada Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program. This project is the third and final phase of reconstruction for Plank Road from Indian Road South to Highway 40.
Traffic impacts
The project area will be closed to through traffic during the majority of the construction period. All motorists planning to travel on this stretch of Plank Road are asked to use an alternate route. Local Industry and businesses will remain open during this project. We appreciate our residents patience as we work to improve infrastructure in the area.
Project timeline
The project is expected to begin the first week of April 2024, dependent on weather and contractor mobilization. Work is targeted for completion in late summer 2024.
