July 17, 2025 — In response to extensive damage caused by weather-driven flooding on the afternoon of July 16, 2025, Progressive Auto Sales Arena will be closed indefinitely to facilitate repairs.

Staff are engaging directly with user groups to inform them of the extended closure. At this time the closure is expected to last for at least the rest of the summer ice season.

The City understands the importance of this facility to users, and recognizes the negative impacts caused by flooding, and we will be working to restore PASA as a crucial space for sport and recreation in our community as soon as possible.

The flood-related closure of PASA has occurred at the same time Pat Stapleton Arena is closed for the season, and is scheduled for refrigeration plant updates, and Clearwater Arena is undergoing facility upgrades, which has unfortunately resulted in no ice availability for at least the rest of the summer season.

We will continue to update facility users directly on the timeline for reopening. Regular updates will be shared with Council via email and Non-Agenda Reports, and with the public via social media and the Public Notices section of the City website.
