Votes for the 2026 Municipal Election in Sarnia can be cast by the following methods:

  • Electronically via internet voting during an 11-day internet voting period; or
  • Paper ballots on Monday, October 26, 2026 at designated voting places throughout the City.

Vote by Internet

You can vote by internet during the internet voting period using the credentials contained in your Voter Information Letter.

Voter Information Letters will be delivered by Canada Post to every person on the Voters’ List between September 23 and September 30.

The internet voting period starts on Friday, October 16 at 9 a.m. and ends on Monday, October 26, 2026 at 8 p.m.

Vote In-Person

On Election Day, Monday, October 26 between the hours of 10 a.m. and 8 p.m., you can vote using a paper ballot at any one of the voting places listed below:

  • Carpenters Local 1256, Main Hall, 100 Business Park Dr.
  • Clearwater Arena, Lower Hall, 1400 Wellington St.
  • Pat Stapleton Arena, Kiwanis Room, 134 Brock St. S.
  • Sarnia Christian School, Gym, 1273 Exmouth St.
  • Sacred Heart Church, 1465 Lecaron Ave.
  • Strangway Community Centre, Gym, 260 East St. N.
  • St. Benedict Church, 1011 Oak Ave.
  • St. Michael Catholic School, Gym, 1930 Wildwood Dr.
  • Trinity Anglican Church, 1194 Murphy Rd.

To vote in-person, you must present proof of identity and residence or complete a Declaration of Identity – Form 9.

Voter Help Centre

A Voter Help Centre will be located at City Hall, 255 Christina St. N., from October 16 to October 26. Voters who do not have access to a computer to vote by internet, or require assistance with internet voting can visit the Voter Help Centre during the following dates and times:

  • October 16, 2026; 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • October 17 to 25, 2026; 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • October 26, 2026; 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
