Important 2026 Municipal Election dates:
- May 1, 2026 — Nomination Period Open: Nomination forms may be filed by candidates beginning Friday, May 1, 2026 until 2 p.m. on August 21 (Nomination Day) between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday, at the City Clerk’s Office.
- May 1 to December 31, 2026 — Campaign Period: The campaign period begins when a candidate has filed the nomination form and ends on December 31, 2026. Alternative time periods are in effect if the candidate withdraws the nomination, if the Clerk rejects the nomination, or the candidate extends his/her campaign and is continuing the campaign to erase a deficit.
- May 1 to October 23, 2026 — Registration Period for Third Party Advertisers: Individuals, corporations, or trade unions may file with the Clerk to be a registered third party for the election using the prescribed form.
- August 21, 2026 — Nomination Day: final day to file Nomination forms. Forms can be submitted at the City Clerk’s Office on this day between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.
- September 1, to October 26, 2026 — Revision to the Voter’s List: Individuals may make an application to the Clerk requesting that their name/information be added, removed, or corrected on the Voter’s List. To confirm if you are on the Voters’ List, please visit the Online Voter Services Portal.
- October 1, 2026 — Voter Information Letter: Electors on the Voters’ List will begin to receive their Voter Information Letters via the mail.
- October 16 to October 26, 2026 — Internet Voting Period. A Voter Information Letter is needed to vote online. The voting begins at 9 a.m. on October 16 until 8 p.m. on October 26.
- October 26, 2026 — Voting Day: Internet voting period closes at 8 p.m. Paper Ballot voting between the hours of 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. Locations to be announced at a later date.
- November 15, 2026 — Term of Office Commences: Elected members must take the oath of office prior to taking their seat. The Inaugural Meeting will be held November 16, 2026, at a time and place to be determined.
