The City is gearing up to once again celebrate the holiday season as Christmas on the Farm returns for its 49th year.

The annual event, held in cooperation with the Seaway Kiwanis Club, will take place at Canatara Park around the Children’s Animal Farm, on Dec. 8 from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Dec. 9 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Attendees can once again expect a wide range of family-friendly attractions that have made the event a Sarnia holiday mainstay for nearly half a century.

“This event is such an adored holiday tradition, it’s an opportunity for young and old across the community to come out and enjoy the spirit of the season,” said Parks and Recreation Manager Krissy Glavin.

Guests can expect the full array of traditional favourites and recent additions that have made the event so popular over the decades, including:

  • Ice-carving demonstrations
  • Story time with Mrs. Claus
  • Cookie giveaways
  • Letters to Santa
  • Train rides
  • Craft making
  • Horse and carriage rides
  • Chestnut roasting
  • A visit from Santa Claus at 1 p.m. on Dec. 9
  • Appearances from Frozen’s Olaf and Rudolph on Dec. 9

Food and beverages will be available at the Seaway Kiwanis Pavilion, and the Animal Farm will be open to visitors throughout the event.

All activities and attractions are free with the exception of food and beverages at the Seaway Kiwanis Pavilion.
