June 15, 2026 — The City of Sarnia is preparing to celebrate Canada Day with a full lineup of activities and entertainment set to take place throughout the day.
On July 1, residents and visitors are invited to take part in the City’s annual community-wide celebrations at two of Sarnia’s signature waterfront spaces offering something for every age and interest.
The day will start at Canatara Park from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., featuring the annual Canada Day Parade alongside a variety of entertainment and family-friendly activities.
Attractions at Canatara Park include:
- Annual Canada Day Parade at 11:30 a.m.
- Handmade vendor market
- Multicultural food booths and food vendors
- Activities on the main field including face painting and inflatable bouncers
- Opening ceremonies and live performances at the Bandshell
- Canada Day Drumming celebration led by the Joyful Noise Drummers
- Family-friendly entertainment
- A selfie station at the information tent
This years Canada Day Parade will begin at 11:30 a.m., starting from the intersection of Colborne Road and Lakeshore Road, heading west on Lakeshore then south on Christina Street before entering Canatara Park at Cathcart Boulevard. The parade will continue through the park on Lake Chipican Drive to Sandy Lane.
The celebration continues into the evening with festivities at Centennial Park from 6 to 10:30 p.m.
Festivities at Centennial Park include:
- Live music by The Infinite, Rumble Fish, and Brothers Wilde
- Extreme dog stunt show
- Strolling buskers
- Food vendors
- Fireworks over the bay at 10 p.m.

Transit and Transportation
Parking will be limited on Canada Day, and residents are encouraged to consider active or public transit. A variety of transportation options are available to help you get to the Canada Day festivities.
Shuttles will run for free every 30 minutes from the Northgate Terminal to both Canatara Park and Centennial Park. Service to Canatara Park will operate from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. and 1 to 4 p.m., while service to Centennial Park will run from 8 to 11 p.m.
Temporary bike lanes will be installed along Michigan Road from Blackwell to Indian from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Front Street, between London and Exmouth will also be closed to vehicle traffic from 9 a.m. until after the fireworks and will be used for temporary bike lanes allowing people to get to and from Canada Day festivities without needing to park. A bike corral will be managed by the Bluewater Trails Committee at Canatara Park.

Please note that there will be road closures in effect to facilitate Canada Day celebrations:
- 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. - Lakeshore Road from Indian Road to Cathcart Boulevard; Lake Chipican Drive from Lakeshore Road to Sandy Lane; and Sandy Lane to accommodate the parade.
- Front Street will be closed between London Road and Exmouth Street starting 9 a.m. until after fireworks to accommodate for temporary bike lanes.
Seaway Road will close at 3 p.m. until after fireworks (businesses remain open)
