June 17, 2025 — The City of Sarnia is getting ready for Canada Day planning a full slate of festivities to celebrate the occasion.
As Canada turns 158 years old on July 1, the City’s annual community-wide celebration will include a wide range of entertainment, attractions, and activities to delight all ages.
The day kicks off at Canatara Park with a variety of family-friendly activities from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Canatara Park festivities and attractions include:
- Concessions including a variety of 11 multicultural concessions
- Handmade Vendor Market
- Free activities including inflatables, facepainting/ airbrush tattoos, ballon clowns, hula hoop fun zone, crafts, and interactive mural.
- Opening ceremonies, Lambton Concert Band, and multicultural performances at the Bandshell.
This year’s Canada Day Parade will begin at 11:30 a.m. at the corner of Lakeshore Road and Colborne Road. The parade will make its way west on Lakeshore Road, then south on Christina Street North, before making its way through Canatara Park on Lake Chipican Drive, and finishing on Sandy Lane.
The festivities move to Centennial Park, from 6 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., featuring an evening of live entertainment, food, and fireworks.
Festivities continue at Centennial Park with:
- Live musical performances at Suncor Agora by The Fried Chix with Ella Kate; Strange Times; and Songs Machine.
- Strolling Buskers throughout park including Kobbler Jay; Scarlett Black; Corbin the Pirate.
- Food vendors
- Extreme Dogs Stunt Dog Show at the Open Field.
- Fireworks over the bay at 10 p.m.
“Canada Day celebrations are the event we most look forward to every year. We can’t wait to welcome back our community for a day filled with free fun for all ages. This year were excited to announce new additions including the Extreme Dogs Stunt Show and a fresh lineup of local bands at Centennial Park. With so much planned there will be no shortage of ways to celebrate,” said Krissy Glavin, Manager, Recreation and Parkland Planning Services.
In the instance of inclement weather, fireworks will be rescheduled for 10 p.m. on July 2.

Transit
Sarnia Transit will offer special free shuttle services to both Canatara Park and Centennial Park, allowing visitors to park off site.
Shuttles will run between Northgate Terminal and Canatara Park, every half hour, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. and from 1 to 4 p.m.
