June 26, 2024 — To accommodate the Canada Day holiday weekend there will be impacts to several City facilities and services.
The following City facilities will be closed on Monday, July 1:
- City Hall
- The Strangway Centre
- The Sarnia Compost Site
- Sarnia Transit Offices
July 1 Transit Service
On Canada Day, July 1, Sarnia Transit will offer free service on a modified holiday schedule.
Sarnia Transit will also offer special free shuttle services to both Canatara Park and Centennial Park, allowing visitors to park off site while visiting City Canada Day Celebrations.
Shuttles will run between Northgate Terminal and Canatara Park, every half hour, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. and from 1 to 4 p.m.

Waste Collection
Garbage, recycling and large item collections will not be impacted.
Road Closures
Several road closures will be in effect at varying times on July 1 to accommodate the parade, Centennial Park celebrations and fireworks, including:
- Lakeshore Road from Indian Road to Christina Street North; Christina Street North from Lakeshore Road to Cathcart Boulevard; and Lake Chipican Drive from 9 a.m. to approximately 1 p.m.
- Front Street from London Road to Exmouth Street from 9 a.m. to 11:45 p.m.
- Harbour Road west of the marina entrance from 3 p.m. to 11:45 p.m.
