November 6, 2025 — As the City honours Remembrance Day, there will be impacts to several City facilities and services on Tuesday, November 11, 2025.

Facility Closures

The following City facilities will be closed on November 11:

  • City Hall
  • Compost Site
  • Strangway Centre
  • Sarnia Transit Offices

Transit Service

Buses will be in service on November 11.

Waste Collection

Waste collection will continue as normally scheduled.

Road Closures

Several road closures will be in effect to facilitate ceremonies including the Remembrance Day parade on Nov. 11, and a candlelight vigil at Sarnia Legion Branch 62 on Nov. 10:

  • Nov. 10, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. – Front Street closed from George Street to Derby Lane
  • Nov. 11, 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. – Front Street closed from Sarnia Legion Branch 62 to George Street; George Street closed Front to Christina; Christina Street closed George to Davis; Davis Street closed Christina to Victoria; Victoria Street closed from Davis to Wellington; Wellington Street closed Victoria to Veterans Park

It is possible nearby side streets may be closed

Parking

On Remembrance Day, please avoid parking between 7 a.m. and noon on:

  • Victoria Street between Davis and Wellington
  • Davis between Victoria and Christina
  • Along the parade route on Front, George, Christina, Davis, Victoria and Wellington
