June 30, 2026 - With a heat alert in effect, the City is deploying additional resources to Canada Day celebrations on Wednesday, July 1, 2026. At both Canatara and Centennial Parks a misting station will be set up at the first aid tent, and additional first aid staff are being deployed, including to the parade marshalling area. Free water will be available next to the information tent at both parks. Participants are reminded to drink plenty of cool fluids, especially water; wear loose-fitting, light-coloured clothing made of breathable fabric; avoid prolonged periods in direct sunlight; and take breaks by spending time in a cool place.
