November 5, 2024 — As the City honours Remembrance Day, there will be impacts to several City facilities and services on Monday, November 11, 2024.
Facility Closures
The following City facilities will be closed on November 11:
- City Hall
- Compost Site; during the holiday closure residents can access drop off for yard waste and bush via Transco Waste and Recycling
- Strangway Centre
- Sarnia Transit Offices
Transit Service
Buses will be in service on November 11.
Waste Collection
Waste collection will continue as normally scheduled.
Road Closures
Several road closures will be in effect to facilitate ceremonies including the Remembrance Day parade on Nov. 11, and a candlelight vigil at Sarnia Legion Branch 62:
- Nov. 10, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. – Front Street closed from George Street to Derby Lane
- Nov. 11, 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. – Front Street closed from Sarnia Legion Branch 62 to George St., George St. closed Front to Christina, Christina St. closed George to Wellington, Wellington St. closed Christina to Vidal
It is possible nearby side streets may be closed
