History of the Strangway Community Centre
The Strangway Community Centre was established as an older adult centre by a generous $1,000,000 donation from William Strangway, as well as contributions from the Province, Ministry of Tourism, the City, and other donors.
William Strangway was a local businessman who saw a need for a place for older adults to socialize. In recent years, we have opened up programming to adults aged 20 and older. The Centre opened on May 1, 1989.
