Garbage collection occurs weekly. Recycle collection occurs bi-weekly in your designated zone.
All waste and recycling should be set out before 7am on your collection day. The driver’s routes can change at any time due to unforeseen circumstances such as weather, construction or various other delays. Have your waste and recycling out before 7am to ensure collection.
Occasionally, due to extreme weather or high volume, collection could be delayed. In the event of a delay, collection contractors will aim to collect first thing the next day.

Special collections: yard waste, brush, Christmas trees and large items
The City of Sarnia provides collection of yard waste, brush, Christmas trees and large items during designated weeks throughout the year.
All collections occur on your regular collection day and must be set out by 7 a.m. and not exceed 22 kg (48 lbs) and/or 121 L in size. Size limits do not apply to large item collections.
